If you have seen our previous UGREEN review, you can expect the same quality and an honest look at their products. UGREEN has been putting out some really nice contenders and competing tech products, showing they are thinking about consumers and improving the quality of life for those who use them. However, they aren’t perfect; some flaws and issues still need to be addressed, but overall, they’ve done a good job of delivering the best.
Saucestudios got a chance to review both their latest MagFlow Qi2 25W 2-in-1 Foldable Wireless Charger and the MagFlow Pro Qi2 25W 3-in-1 Wireless Charger, both of which I can say are really great but do have minor issues that I will bring up. So let’s take a look at what these devices offer.
MagFlow Qi2 25W 2-in-1 Foldable Wireless Charger
This is a straightforward and easy-to-use device. Hook up the USB-C to USB-C cable provided to a powerbank or charging brick/port and place your phone or wireless charging earbud case on it. Nothing too difficult. It is rated to output a total of 30W, even though the product name is 25W. I assume that because most people will just be charging their phone.
Qi2 charges the phone up to 25W and the AirPods or wireless charging earbud case up to 5W. The charging is decent for fast charging, and charging from 40% to 95% on my Samsung Fold 8 Ultra took roughly a little over an hour. The best part I notice is the high-temperature protection; it doesn’t even feel slightly warm after long usage, which is superb in my books. The devices offer other protection, such as overcharge protection, static electricity protection, and a few others.
You must, though, use a rated power cable if you are not using the provided one to charge your device properly. We recommend any cable that supports at least 25W of power delivery. The magnetic connection is very strong and helps keep your phone in place, even with a case. The case is decently small and lightweight, so you can carry it in your pocket and will barely notice it. It is very portable and can be used almost anywhere, which, combined with a powerbank bank, makes it perfect for traveling anywhere. Or use the UGREEN Nexode Pro 160W charger so that you can carry fewer wires.
Of course, it is also decently durable. How do I know? Well, I dropped it on hard cement; after picking it up, I brushed off the dirt and tested it, and it still works. Of course, try not to damage it deliberately, since it is a bit pricey. This device works with almost any phone that supports Qi fast wireless charging, and, as mentioned earlier, the charging earbud portion works with any case that supports wireless charging. While we haven’t tested every wireless charging earbud case, we know it works with the Bose wireless case and, of course, the AirPods case.
MagFlow Pro Qi2 25W 3-in-1 Wireless Charger
This is probably what most people are interested in, and after using it both at work and at home, it is a very convenient device. Let’s start with the con, since it can be a big help for many people. The device is mainly for Apple devices, so if you don’t have an Apple Watch, AirPods, or iPhone, it is hard to justify buying it. However, all is not lost. It can charge an Android phone that supports Qi wireless charging, as well as a wireless charging earbud case. The watch charger will be useless to you. Still, I found a smart workaround: since it is magnetic, I use my Android watch charger and attach it to the Apple magnetic charger; though it adds an extra cable I need to plug into the port or wall, it is better than not using it.
The MagFlow Pro Qi2 comes with a charger and a USB-C to USB-C cable, which is very convenient, and I would recommend using them, as they are rated to work with the device. Let’s start with the main piece: their large magnetic Qi2 charger. This part of the device has a very strong magnetic field, and it held up my Samsung Fold 8 Ultra with a dBrand case at a 45-degree angle all night. It is also easy to remove my phone. What is more impressive is the cooling system: an active cooling system called CryoPule Tec that keeps your device from overheating while charging. It has a fan, but you will barely hear it since it is quieter than 15dB (feels like it is around 10dB). It also has multi-safety protection to make sure your device doesn’t overcharge, overheat, and more. It is also a convenient stand to use at work, so I don’t have to bend my neck to look at my phone, which is an additional plus in my book.
The fast charging for the watch and earbuds is the same, as it splits the charging if you use all three spots, up to 32.5W. However, when you use it individually, it is up to 5W. You can push the Apple Watch charger up from the bottom base to angle it. It has a decent magnet to keep your watch from falling off or slipping. Of course, I use that magnet base to hold up my Android watch charger, though it is a bit inconvenient; it is an alternative for those who don’t use Apple products.
The MagFlow Pro Qi2 has a smart charging feature that monitors the devices you place on it. It also has two side buttons to control the fan and the display (power screen, temperature screen, and low input icon). The MagFlow Pro isn’t heavy to move around, but given its design, I wouldn’t carry it everywhere. I keep it mainly at home, near my work area in the morning, then move it to my nightstand.
It is pricey for those who don’t use Apple devices, so while there is a workaround, keep that in mind. My honest hope is that UGREEN will consider that many people use Android devices as well, and I hope their future products will support both Apple and Android so they can target a huge market instead of one group. Even so, both products are great, and they’ve done well so far, and I can’t wait to see what else they have in the future.
